Turnkey VOC Pollution Control System: Title V Permit Acquisition
Complete design-build thermal oxidizer installation enabling Title V permit approval with 99.9% DRE on initial stack test.
The Challenge
A new industrial coating facility required a complete, turnkey VOC control solution to obtain their Title V operating permit before their production start date. The project required a system capable of handling high-volume, low-concentration air streams from six spray booths with a combined exhaust flow of 60,000 SCFM. The client had a non-negotiable production start date, and any permit delay would result in significant financial penalties.
Our Solution
We provided a full design-build solution, managing the entire project lifecycle from initial EPA permit application support through final EPA Method 25A stack testing and operator training. The scope included the thermal oxidizer, all interconnecting ductwork, a high-efficiency centrifugal fan system, and a custom-engineered exhaust stack. We also engineered a heat recovery loop to provide supplemental building heat during winter months, offsetting natural gas costs.
Data-Driven Results
- Delivered a fully operational, permitted system 2 weeks ahead of the client's production start date.
- Achieved 99.9% DRE during initial EPA Method 25A stack testing, exceeding the required 98% threshold.
- Heat recovery loop provides an estimated $45,000 in annual natural gas savings.
- Title V permit acquired with zero deficiencies noted by state environmental regulators.
